There has been very significant changes within Google over the past few
months. For some there has been little to no effect, but for others
there has been substantial changes to their rankings.
The recent
Mayday changes were the result of an algorithmic change within Google.
This new algorithm searches for pages that are more specific to users
queries by digging deeper and looking at long tail keywords.
This
algorithm does not change how Google crawls or index's web sites. Its a
rankings change that impacts long tail queries. Consider it an
expansion of Google's algorithm that provides results that are more
precise to people that make searches that are more specific.
Many
larger sites are being effected by this new algorithm change. These
larger sites are noticing de-indexing of pages that appear to not have
content that adds value to the overall website. Many e commerce sites
fall into this category.
These new changes have put me and my
associates into a state of overdrive to create new unique content for
our pages. In this process we are also adjusting the onpage seo of the
sites, it's really a revamping of all of our sites pages.
Along
with unique content and onpage SEO tweaks, we are also looking to find
new creative ways to make the user's experience more engaging and useful
for them.
Stay positive, this new algorithm is actually a good
thing! The adjustments that you make will create better results for
everyone in the long run and users should notice greater accuracy and
effectiveness of the search results.
As the algorithms continue
to get smarter and better at identifying sites that offer quality
content, you in turn must respond and make the necessary adjustments.
Keep in mind that you are not only offering a product or service, but
you must also help people and inform them. People want to learn, offer
them useful information and the search engines will provide them with
that information.
If you are having trouble ranking you need to
focus on the pages of your website that are currently ranking. That's
always a good sign! With internet marketing when you find something that
works, KEEP DOING IT!!
Compare the pages that are currently
ranking to pages that are not ranking well. What I have found with my
larger e commerce sites is that the content that has been duplicated
from the manufactures website does not rank very well. I am going
through all the sites and creating unique content for all the individual
pages. So far I have seen tremendous results from this.
My best
advice for any Seo expert is to try not to focus on the details of
Google's new algorithm so much. For one, it can drive you crazy if you
let it! Most importantly, focus on defining your market and delivering
them detailed content that they can use.
When in doubt, keep it
simple!! By providing quality content that people are researching it
will be found and you will be rewarded within the search engines!

attention in a short amount of time. Radio also creates a larger than
life image of the event or product that you are promoting.
In radio, simpler is better. The easier you make your message to be understood and the less cluttered you make the commercial, the better. Never try to cram information into the ad, it is always recommended to focus on only one product, event or promotion within the commercial.
You will see an influx of calls around the times that your ad airs. Be sure to be prepared to answer the phones when your commercial airs.
If your thinking of using the radio to market your products, then start listening to what other advertisers are doing to market their products. This way you will get idea’s for your commercial. Also, browse other stations within your market area to determine if they may be a fit for you.

We also recommend that you repeat your web address at least three times within the ad.

Radio marketing tip: Keep your website address short and easy to remember.
If your airing your commercial on a country western station you do not want an ad with hip hop music explaining your product. Same as with a rock station, you do not want classical music in the background discussing your products. Pretty obvious, but it must be said because consistency is very important in radio advertising.
Positioning tips: Position your fifteen second commercials on a rotation. Place one at the top and bottom of each hour. During peak listening hours try to play your commercials more frequently. Every twenty minutes is a good rule of thumb.

Alot of people are struggling with Google's new Caffeine algorithm and MayDay changes. Hopefully you all will get some useful idea's from this article to fine tune your seo skills and dominate the rankings.
First off, I would like to thank all my mentors and everyone else that has contributed to my success. If it wasn't for you this article wouldn't be possible.
While everyone else is struggling, now is your chance to take over that #1 spot! These changes are a good thing, so long as you follow the advice in this article.
CAUTION: Never obviously over stuff your pages! and Never use cloaking tactics! Google punishes very severely, and its just a matter of time until your competition reports you.
With that being said, here is my checklist to follow:
1) Use a unique title for every page that you create
2) Create unique descriptions on all your page's
3) Never use relative URLs within the source of your page
4) Create keyword enriched HTML comments within the content areas
5) Use keywords in the url's for the different pages that they link to
6) Go through all the title attributes
7) Dial in all alt text
8) Use microformats every chance that you get
9) Never use over two entries within the meta keywords
10) Link all the pages together using a sitemap widget. Put the widget in the footers.
11) Never stop creating backlinks!
12) Each page should have a paragraph of 300-500 words. Keep the keyword density to around 10%. Make sure that at least 8-10 words link to other related pages.
13) Always us canonical tags on all the pages
14) Create a social media campaign using the top 5 social media sites and provide links back to website. Maintain daily.
15) Register with Google webmaster central
16) Update robots txt
17) Update all pages regularly
18) Add Twitter and Facebook buttons
19) Stop Adwords and hire Facebook/social media experts
20) Be sure to use image alt tags

These changes are not effecting everyone, but if your one of the unlucky ones, than this advice will work very well for you. Don't get too concerned, Google always does the "Google dance" and using these simple adjustments will get you "Swinging to the music" !!
